So if you are in a hurry and want to make some really good pancakes...grab a Duncan Hines Butter Cake Mix instead of Hungry Jack Wheat Blends Pancake Mix, add necessary ingredients and have a flattened round mini cake for breakfast. This was not on the menu on purpose but turned out to be a delicious mistake.

Madi is ONE!
Our little Madi "Moo Moo" is ONE! I loved planning this party. It was a theme I had never seen before but I loved it. I think yellow and red look so good together. No one ever told me that having children will produce and large necessity for creativity, but this kind of stuff is therapeutic for me in a way.

"Ada's 2nd Birthday"

So as I planned for Ada's 2nd birthday all I had in my was 90 degree weather not a crazy rain storm coming to wash all of my hard made decorations away. But the food was still good and friends and family were there to celebrate, which makes the party a party! It sad that Ada is now 2 and 1/2 as we say and I'm just now sharing the moments with the blog. I have a lot of catching up to do.

Family Portrait
Where is your family photographer when you need her?! So realizing we had no family pictures since Madi was born, I had to recruit someone else to take a picture of our family. (My Mom) How do photographers make it look so easy to capture the personality and character of each family member, in one picture, and make it a good picture. Well, this was my lame attempt, at least I tried!
Madi and Mommy
So when you are the one behind the camera all the time it's seemingly impossible to appear in the pictures. Last week I came to the very sad realization that I didn't have any pictures of just me and Madi or even me, Madi and Ada. So Jim has become my fill in camera man. When I see time has gone by and I am been out of the pictures for too long, he has agreed to step in and take some pictures. What a great husband.
Baby Signing Time!
If you have not heard of the Signing Time series by Rachel Coleman...it's worth taking a look. This is a few of many signs that Ada has learned. (Frog, pig, and tree) Today I signed "Do you want mommy to help you?" Ada's response was "uh huhhhhhh!" She knew exactly what I signed and she REALLY wanted me to help her get her juice out of the fridge. Ada is definitely at that stage in life where she soaks everything up like the newest and improved sponge on the market.
2 under 2!
As Madi gets bigger and more mobile and interactive I realize how close in age they look and actual are. Thinking about having two under the age of two used to frigthen me, now it's reality. If you know me at all you know that I live by a schedule. It is my sanity, without it I would be frantic. Having two napping girls from 1:00-3:30 used to seem impossible, but I am proud and very thankful to say it can be done.

Mobile for Madi

I made a Sun Bonnet Sue quilt for Madi's crib and could not find a mobile with the same color tone as the quilt. When I came upon this idea for a fabric yo yo mobile I decided to give it a try. And was pleased to find out how easy it was! I bought a mobile at a resale boutique and used it for the frame of the mobile. I didn't want to take the time to glue fabric around a cross-stitch hoop. One more craft project crossed off my list!

Monogramming Madness!
So Jim decided to get me a Memory Craft 9700 Sewing/Embroidery machine which has become my new obsession. Now that Ada and Madi both nap from 1-3pm, I have now officially named that my "Sewing Time." If you know me and how much I thrive on organization and scheduling you aren't surprised at all by me labeling a time frame of my own day...and if you really know me you know that I have typed out a schedule for the day for both girls. Which I may include in a post soon!

Okay, so one pin cushion project apparently wasn't enough. I liked this project though, it didn't require a sewing machine, just commen sense and some hot glue!! Cute idea!
